Announcements
Pack Business
- SOAR Adventure Tower is being rescheduled. We don't have a new date yet — we'll share it on WhatsApp and in a future newsletter as soon as it's set.
- Pack dues are $35 per Scout for all returning members. First-year Scouts don't pay dues. Venmo @Ross-Lyons-1 with the Scout's name in the message.
- If you haven't yet, join our WhatsApp Community — it's where pack chatter, reminders, and on-the-trail updates happen.
Advancements
- Finish Bobcat at home. If your Scout hasn't completed every Bobcat requirement, wrap it up at home and enter it in Scoutbook Plus. Requirement links are in the September newsletter.
- Use Scoutbook Plus to record your Scout's adventures. It works well on your phone's browser, and the Scouting mobile app is available too.
Volunteers Needed
- We need parent volunteers to lead our Franklin Christmas Parade entry — theme is "Santa's Helpers — Making Spirits Bright." Email cubmaster@pack299.com to help or share ideas.
- We also need 2 trucks and 2 trailers for the float. If you can drive or lend one for the day, email cubmaster@pack299.com.
Upcoming Events
Required for Every Outing
Complete the Annual Health and Medical Forms A and B and bring them to the next meeting.
Den Adventures
This Month's Theme: Outdoor Adventure
October is about getting outside. Each rank works its own outdoor-focused adventure at den breakout, and with the Fall Campout on the calendar, we're also covering every rank's Let's Camp elective (see below).
Required for Every Den
Every rank's adventure includes a hike or nature walk. Join us at Bowie Nature Park on Oct 24 — or if you can't make it, plan a family hike at home and record it in Scoutbook Plus.
Stay In The Loop
Join the Pack 299 WhatsApp community for pack chatter and campout updates.
More Adventures
Heading to the Fall Campout? Lion through Webelos each have a Let's Camp elective — much of it happens naturally over the weekend, so pull up your Scout's version before you pack.
